Friday was Shalina’s 26th birthday and I have been so crazy spending time with Shalina that I am JUST NOW getting to this post. Friday was the wedding craft extravaganza. Shalina’s Maids of Honor: Heather and Sara came down from Roseville (about 7 hours north of us – near Sacramento) for Bachelorette weekend – but before the festivities could officially begin, there was some crafting to get done. I left for Shalina’s house right around 9:00am with birthday present in hand – when I got there, she was still in her jammies, but that did NOT stop the celebrating.

She ripped through the tissue to find a cake plate and recipe box she registered for in the bag. She was excited. I also made her recipe cards to use in the recipe box {who sells a recipe box without including recipe cards – COME ON MARTHA!}.

We then had yummy breakfast, discussed the “special cheese” and the lack of a cheese grater to replace the “special cheese” if needed, and got started on the projects before us. Heather (who is not super into crafts) started by cutting out the table numbers while Shalina and Sara worked on the favor tags and favor bags. I worked on the cutie cute little lamp centerpieces that we are going to use on half of the tables (they are a really great DIY and an excellent to save money on florals!).

We probably spent 3 hours crafting and had almost everything done! SO much easier doing these tasks with multiple people helping! We then went to Ikea where we had {a very QUESTIONABLE} lunch and purchased the candles and wine glasses to complete our projects. With Ikea taken care of, we were off to Sephora for make up purchases. I am doing Shalina’s makeup for the BIG DAY as well as coordinating – so we needed to do some browsing to find the appropriate colors! It was a SUPER PRODUCTIVE DAY {although outside of the presents it didn’t feel too much like Shalina’s birthday} and I think at the end of it we all felt more “ready” for the wedding. Things are getting checked off the list folks…and the days remaining before the big “I DO” are dwindling down…
