The Cinema

This weekend one of my best friends Gan came into town to finish off our celebration of her 24th birthday at the Hollywood Bowl – but we figured since the concert was on Sunday night we should probably make a weekend of it! SO on Saturday we lunched at the Whole Enchilada (favorite chips and salsa status) and then watched Jennifer’s Body (SO many comments that I’ll just keep them to myself – FABULOUS movie and WRONG in LITERALLY every way!). Then around 5:00pm we headed towards Pasadena to experience the Cinema. When we went to the Ellen show for my 25th birthday, our girl E gave us tickets to Gold Class Cinemas. We had a little trouble with the finding of the theater and the parking, but once we were walking the red carpet, life was golden! We wanted to see Inception but it was full, so we settled for Twilight. We were ushered to our seats (recliners) and then offered blankets and pillows…we were told where and how to stow our belongings and given brief instructions on the button that would allow us to recline or incline in a smooth and luxurious fashion. When our menus came around we decided to order cocktails and desserts – it was a good decision. We both ordered Passion Fruit Mojitos and Gan got some chocolate mousse type thing and I got beignets and dipping sauces – LEGIT! Everything was SO good (other than the movie which was merely average in comparison to the experience itself). On our way out we decided we could definitely become movie snobs…Gold Class Cinema is AMAZING and thanks to Ellen giving us TWO tickets each, we are SUPER EXCITED to say that we are planning a trip back for Harry Potter in November – CANNOT WAIT!!!!!!!! We finished the evening off with a late night dip in Kenz’s pool which was majestic to say the least and then tucked in. It was a perfect Saturday!
