Weekend in Review...

Last week was (in a word) INTERESTING. On Monday Shalina moved out of my house and into a ROACH INFESTED APARTMENT that she had signed a lease on and had mentally prepared to nest in thus creating a HOME for herself and her soon to be husband to share (after their wedding on July 23)…needless to say that didn’t last long! Shalina slept there on Monday night and on Tuesday night, but by Wednesday she had HAD IT so I blew up the air mattress and she came home! It was definitely fun sleeping under the same roof again. It just felt right. Craig has been yelling “Goodnight Shelly” after we both close our doors to go to bed each night, so it was fun to hear him yell, “Goodnight everyone” and then of course, “Goodnight Craig” came from my mouth and “Goodnight Babe” came from Shalina’s in response. Thursday at lunchtime Shalina was given keys to a different apartment on the complete opposite end of the complex and was told she and Craig could move there instead as soon as they wanted. (They were also informed that the entire building their old apartment was located in would have to be bombed for roaches – SO GROSS!). SO on Thursday evening when I got off work, I changed into yoga pants (because everything is better in yoga pants) and drove down to their new place to help them move all their stuff. It was a blessing to serve them and to see their new place. I really am excited for them – the complex is really nice and their apartment is lovely as well. I think they are going to be really happy! We didn’t see a single roach in the new place and other than the single flea that Shalina found Friday morning, it has been insect free since move in! YAY! It was a really long evening and by the time we were done, I was sore, sweaty, and ready for bed! Friday I worked both jobs and then ran a few errands and was SO GLAD to come home and aimlessly watch tv on the couch! I woke up in the middle of the night with a killer headache which made Saturday a bit difficult, but when I finally got out of bed, I did 2 loads of laundry, worked on some design stuff for Shalina’s wedding and then went to IKEA and Anthropologie with Melody. We pride ourselves on always looking GORGEOUS in pictures.... Sunday I went to church (and sat next to Melody rather than alone as I had the previous week – I thought I was inconspicuous – but the Pastor even noticed me sitting by myself! Yikes bikes!) and then grabbed lunch with Mel before running home so Steven could come pick up his grill. I am going to miss that grill! Later in the afternoon I ran a few more errands for Shalina’s bridal shower and watched more tv. Then went to Rock Harbor Fullerton with Steven in the evening...MAN I LOVE THAT CHURCH! It is always a GREAT way to close the weekend.
