Now…if I can just break them in before we leave on our trip…and not DIE hiking in the mountains…
{This life is not at all what I expected and yet I long to live fully and with great joy as I make the very most of my one wild and crazy adventure. Regardless of what the circumstances may hold, I have NO DOUBT there is a great and mighty plan and I am eagerly anticipating all the King has in store for me}

live the dream...run the 1K!
SO…My sweet friend {used to be roommate} Shalina is getting married 1 month from tomorrow and the festivities are definitely underway! She had a shower on Sunday afternoon…I am throwing the lingerie shower on Saturday afternoon {I spent several hours last night cutting monograms for cupcakes and decorating sparkling cider for favors}…and the bachelorette weekend is just over 2 weeks away. Let’s stop for just a few minutes and delve into bachelorette weekend. Bachelorette weekend is a camping trip in the Tahoe Mountains and let me just say: I AM NOT A CAMPER! I have “camped” at the beach every summer since I was 1 – but I have NEVER tent camped. NEVER. My parents had a tent trailer when I was young and now have a 5th wheel…apparently I lived the good life as far as camping is concerned. SO needless to say I HAVE THE FEAR about camping weekend. I have NO IDEA what this is going to look like. I should probably stop and clarify that Shalina is hard core…she does cross fit (this INSANE workout program) and eats PALEO most of the time…she could probably run a marathon without running out of breath. I am not so “athletic” – I was a swimmer but have since turned in my paddles and drag suits and labeled myself a television champion. However, I doubt the tv skills will prepare me for what I’m about to experience. Yesterday I took the first {GIANT} step in prepping for the big adventure: I bought tennis shoes. Clarification #2: I have tennis shoes – of the Jack Purcell variety that look super cute in the winter with jeans at Disneyland - I do NOT have running shoes or any shoes that would be even moderately appropriate for hiking. After work I went to Nordstrom Rack and had a minor anxiety attack while trying to determine which running shoes {which are all rather unfortunate looking} were the cutest while still ensuring that they weren’t too uncomfortable – I don’t want to end up with fat foot like my friend Megan who now has pitting edema because she wore tennis shoes to take Henry on a walk one afternoon. I ended up enlisting a friend’s advice and in the end settled on some Adidas with some {a lot} pink accents.
Now…if I can just break them in before we leave on our trip…and not DIE hiking in the mountains…
