my friend Jenny just bought her first home...and yes i am insanely jealous...not so much of the mortgage or the upkeep...but rather because she gets the rare opportunity as a 25-year-old, single woman to live ALONE. i'm not altogether sure that i could handle living alone - i tend to be kind of a scardey cat when it comes to night-time in a dark house all by myself (i lived in stanton for a while and during one summer all my roommates were gone at the same time for like 12 days - i had to sleep with all the lights on and the television blaring to drown out any potentially threatening sounds namely gunshots and helicopters circling overhead) - and yet someone how even amidst the fear, the silence sounds absolutely divine. i don't have anything against my roommates (other than the fact that they THINK they're clean when in reality they're a dirty mess [ps i am almost 100% certain that none of them read my blog - and if they do, i'll know SOON as i'll be in BIG trouble for being so honest!] and they, due to no faults of their own, can drive me CRAZY faster than anyone else in my life - well maybe other than my mother...) but having my OWN space and getting to decorate it according to my taste or buy fun new dishes that i'm not worried about getting broken or shamelessly hang photos of all the wonderful people in my life just sounds FABULOUS. i think i'm in a nesting stage and yet due to my circumstances, i feel completely incapable of nesting. boo.
anyway, the whole point of the post was to share with you some of the items i dream about at night when i escape to dreamland where all my materialistic wishes come true! ha
Above, you will see a chair - its quite a chair - and although I maybe would choose a different pattern, I undoubtedly want a SIGNATURE piece in my living room - and one that is vibrant with SO MANY different colors is a good option to suite my ever changing decorative needs.
This particular chair is from Anthropologie - one of my stores of choice - unfortunatley it is EXTREMELY pricey...so i usually can't shop there for big ticket items.
Another item on my wish list are these BEAUTIFUL dishes from Pottery Barn (yet another store of choice!) these are from the "Emma" line and although i seriously couldn't care less about the cup and saucer, i can't wait for the day when i have the dinner plates, salad plates, soup bowls, cereal bowls, AND the footed fruit bowl! ahhhhhh!! SOMEDAY!
Enough dreaming for now - i'm pretty sure i'm foaming at the mouth and very soon i'll be beyond tempted to pull out a credit card of some type and make a purchase that will envoke a serious case of buyers remorse.
I think i'll go satiate my immediate needs with a tasty treat...GOLDEN SPOON here i come!
