Megan and I met almost 6 years ago now when she started her freshmen year of college (which i believe would have been the 2004-2005 school year!) we both attended California Baptist University and lived in the dorms. We were on the same hall (1B) and although it was quite a conglomeration of individuality, the entire hall got along great and made more memories than it would even be possible to share. I was a sophomore and an admissions host while the hall was predominantly freshmen giving me an automatic advantage in friendship - i was cool! :) ha! (or at least i thought so - that is probably more accurate!) megan and i hit it off quickly and spent our college years wasting time doing all kinds of ridiculous things like planting a Christmas branch (it fell from the tree outside my apartment), watching countless hours of terrible television such as America's Next Top Model and the Bachelor, we also watched countless hours of AMAZING television - Grey's Anatomy parties were at my apartment EVERY thursday night and project runway was a MUST SEE!!! we attended CBU events such as recess and homecoming just to get free t-shirts that we wore on saturdays when we stayed in our pajamas all day and ordered pizza while watching movies back to back to back to back, we participated in campus days - a cbu school-wide competition - and rocked it as the 1B golfers, made a lot of trips to Jack in the Box (thanks to Erika), had matress races down the hall, did as much shopping as possible and really just enjoyed college together. i graduated a year before gGan and moved out to orange county. after her graduation, she moved back to the OC as well and the adventures began yet again. we are slightly more mature now - instead of eating jackinthebox we consume vast quantities of mexican food and in-n-out burgers, we enjoy trips to THE DIZ, afternoons at the Bowers Museum, weekend outings to Irvine Spectrum or Fashion Island for Anthropologie, Valentine's Day Cupcake Crawls from Newport to Santa Monica, Saturday Matinee Movies, Wednesday Night dinners (when megan doesn't have church), pedicures, and daily (or hourly) emails while we're at work. We still watch a lot of ridiculous television, and i dare say the list has grown (but this post isn't about my TV addiction! ha!) Gan is an incredible person and a wonderful friend - she has brought SO MUCH joy and laughter to my life and it has really been my honor to grow with her! SO TODAY GAN, as you begin 23, I CELEBRATE - i celebrate you, and our friendship, the years we've spent laughing through it all, the memories we have, and the memories we've yet to make! i love you with all my heart!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
