the Friday that never came

I have been SO BUSY lately that I really feel like I haven’t even had time to breathe. Sad Day. Last week almost EVERY day felt like Friday – that is – until Friday actually arrived. Friday blended right into the weekend and then I woke up this morning and another week had begun.
This weekend was literally a BLURR of activity. Saturday morning I got up and went to the Redmond Family home to finish getting things ready for Becka’s shower – I can’t believe that Molly will be here sometime next month. So excited to celebrate another life. The shower was DARLING and it was SO MUCH FUN getting to host with Jenny. I’m so thankful for both of those girls. It has been just over a year since our friendships really started to bloom and blossom – but they are both wonderful and absolute GIFTS in my life. I’m SO BLESSED. The shower was quite a success and I must say Becka is VERY LOVED – and so is her little girl. Each one of the ladies that came to join us in honoring Becka gave more than we could have hoped for. By the time Molly arrives, she will be SET! The decorations turned out darling and I really think everyone had a good time. It was a delightful time.
Saturday evening was the Trustee Board Dinner – thankfully Paul Burke was going off the board – so I got to hang out with Becka all evening. Between her and Diane, the laughter never stopped. I was totally and completely exhausted by the time I got home at approximately 9:20 but still managed to squeeze in this week’s episode of Harper’s Island with Megan. It has been SO FUN living with her for the past few weeks – but more on that in another post. Sunday morning came bright and early as I was to meet Jenny at her NEW HOUSE (escrow closed on Thursday and she got keys on Friday) by 9am to start cleaning and putting as much away as possible. The kitchen took SEVERAL hours – the house is only 7 years old – but I think it has probably been that long since it received a real good wash. Ha. By 12:00pm the kitchen was clean, the house was vacuumed, and the carloads were beginning to arrive. We unloaded and unloaded and unloaded – washed more dishes – put more stuff away – unloaded – organized – put more stuff away and cleaned. It was quite the ordeal (as moving usually is).
I had to leave at 2:00pm to meet the Executive Leadership Team of the Baldwin Company to discuss the upcoming Board of Directors presentation scheduled for Tuesday (TOMORROW) – but promised to come back after if she still needed help. The Baldwin Company meeting ran from approximately 2:00pm – 4:30pm at which point Jenny said she was going to PAINT THE MASTER BEDROOM and needed my ceiling painting self to GET OVER THERE! Ha! Oh the skills that I have developed by being a world changer! Ha! so by 5:00pm we were covering the carpet (that is NOT getting replaced) with plastic and taping off the baseboards with painters tape. Jenny started cutting in and I started rolling the ceiling. By 8:50pm – the entire bedroom was primed and the bathroom was very close to finished. Jenny picked up dinner, we sat down to eat, and I collapsed. Exhausted set in – Jenny sent me home. I showered and then tucked in for the night – next thing I knew, it was Monday morning and time to leave for work. Another week begins…
