i am SO sad to say that my chi has officially been laid to rest. she has been a great friend...always welcoming me to the day with her pink and silvery happiness. she made my hair look SO GOOD. i am still in the mourning stage - but have purchased an adequate replacement. unfortunately, it is yet one more step to claiming total adulthood. my new chi is black. plain black. no fun paint job. AND it has a velcro little thing to wrap the cord up in - so responsible. gross. {yes i realize that LIKELY the reason my chi no longer works IS because i wrapped my cord up like this EVERY morning and now the little connectors and all the electrical stuff in there isn't hooked up right anymore.} i haven't used the new chi yet - but i SURE hope he works just as well as she did! she revolutionized my life. she even ironed my clothes MANY a morning! such a dear she was! rest in peace...sorry you're going out in the garbage tomorrow...i apologize!!!

too bad you are the only Californian who knows the love of the Chi....no one else can comfort you in your time of loss.
