a thursday musing...

I am a constant thinker and processor and I was struck the other day by the magnitude of the concept that God so uniquely made each one of us. I have heard numerous times that God knows each of us intimately, personally, that He loves us infinitely and treasures us. But, I don’t know if I have really stopped to consider that we were each created with a distinct personality perfectly matched to the circumstances we are going to encounter in our lives. We are just strong enough to endure the various trials we will face, courageous enough for the adversity we will endure. We are bold enough to share with the people He will place in our path and bright enough to bring a smile to those in our surroundings. He has equipped us, prepared us, and planned for us to be His light to those around us. We are His workmanship and it’s more than just an idea - it is a fact and our very fibers were crafted intricately to live up to that calling. What a beautiful and amazing truth we have live out of. It gives me so much more confidence as I embrace myself. I don’t have to fight the aspects of my nature that can sometimes be challenging - God made me this way intentionally, purposefully, with the life He had planned for me in mind before the creation of time. As I sat with the Lord and discussed this, the beauty of His intentionality unfolded in entirely new ways. He doesn’t just know the number of hairs on our heads sweet sisters, He doesn’t just know us, HE PURPOSED our days and gave us just enough. We are exactly who we need to be and if we are leaning into Him and choosing Him, we are living as we need to as we hold hands with the Creator of this universe. I don’t know about you, but that sure makes my heart beat faster…
