OSCARS 2011

for the past several years, Gan and i have enjoyed the oscars together at our ANNUAL OSCAR PARTY. however, this year she was up in nipomo at her new house and i was in orange county battling the ogre eye (i have viral conjunctivitus at the moment - SO NOT CUTE - thanks a lot Madeline!). needless to say, i watched the oscars alone. AND i was moderately disappointed overall. there were a few dresses to note, a lot there were pretty standard, and the show itself was fairly boring. it's time to step up your game oscars...you've been around for 83 years - you should be PRO by now!

but...onto the best part of the oscars...the red carpet dresses (and TIM GUNN hosting a red carpet show - HELLO - THAT is what we're talking about Oscars!)

amy adams looked STUNNING in this blue shimmering gown - but i'll agree with the critics - i don't love the necklace...i LOVED the back of anne hathaway's red carpet gown (she wore about 16 different dresses throughout the evening - but this is the only one i really noticed...she did look surprisingly attractive in a suit though - props for that - i cannot say the same about james franco and the dress...) but the strapless front really didn't do much for her...but she is GORGEOUS for sure.mila kunis was the talk of the red carpet in her lavender fringed gown...i was DEFINITELY a fan...she looked FAB for sure!natalie portman is almost always on my best dressed list. i loved the deep plum color of her dress, and the neckline with the slight shimmer was so flattering....the cute little baby bump doesn't hurt either. she is radiant!probably my favorite dress of the evening was jennifer hudson. unfortunately she had something questionable going on up at the chest area that was totally distracting. the top of this dress is NOT cute...but the bottom is AMAZING...and her hair was SO classy...it was definitely one of her best looks - next time, just eliminate the side boob and she'll be a winner for sure!
