update on my {busy} life...

WELL HELLO THERE BLOGGING WORLD. It has been ENTIRELY too long. My life has been {somewhat} full these days and I just haven’t made the time to blog. (Please notice that I said made the time – I FULLY believe that you have time for whatever you WANT to have time for in life [at least MOST of the time]). SO since I have been {so} busy and my life has been {so} full I haven’t stopped to look around for much blogging inspiration…so today I submit to you my rather uninspiring and frankly quite boring blog dedicated to WHAT EXACTLY has kept me {so} busy these days.

1. Work. I spend AT LEAST 40 hours each week sitting in my office behind my computer at my desk working on this and that. I THOROUGHLY enjoy my job – but it does take up a lot of my time. AND sitting behind the computer all day makes coming home to look at blogs ON A COMPUTER a bit more difficult.

2. Packing. We are moving. In just over a week now. I need to pack boxes. More boxes than I’ve packed ever before. And I’m tired of packing and cleaning and packing more and dusting so that things are clean when they’re packed and doing laundry so I can have clean sheets when I unpack. And running errands to get more storage options for packing and storing and saving. And searching for a washer/dryer set so that I can have clean clothes at my new place. And dropping off the cashier’s check/rental agreement. Yes. I’m packing and packing takes a TON of time.

3. Television. I have admitted it before and I’ll admit it again. I’m ADDICTED to television. ENTIRELY. I LOVE IT. (note to self: make sure and call the ATT U-verse people to find out if they can transfer our service to our new address without a lapse in coverage. I WOULD LOVE THAT!) I realize there is some potential that I will have to struggle through a few days without my current television situation and watch movies or something instead. Which I will handle with grace and poise {you’ll find me at Jenny’s house watching my shows on HER television} so in the meantime I have to get ALL caught up! OOOH ps I just finished that chore – we’re getting set up with new cable/internet THE DAY we move in! WOOT! SO I guess I could stop making sure I’m caught up – but we ALL know I’ll be watch Grey’s Anatomy AND Project Runway AND Survivor TONIGHT! YES!

4. Social Events. This includes weddings (2 in October – I’ll blog about that another day!), Bible Study, Lunches with friends, Dinner with friends, Church, Disneyland (my pass expired Oct. 19 so I had to make sure and get a couple more uses out of it!) and I’m sure at least a few other things….

I think that is {about} the extent of my life…so for now I sign off…
Ps this blog inspired an idea for blogging…wedding blogs coming SOON!!

FAVORITE...

So i know i am a failed blogger at the moment - but i just had to share a few favorites...THIS is my current favorite song - it's ingrid michaelson (whom i absolutely adore) - and my favorite moment from Grey's Anatomy Season 5. I'm pretty sure I was completely overwhelmed by tears at this point in the show. Izzie and George have been my people since I was a sophomore in college. This was the PERFECT wedding for them and a PERFECT grey's moment.

ELLEN IS BACK!!

THIS is an amazing week! SHOWS ARE BACK!!!! wooohoooooo! ok so not ALL of them are back (i'm still anxiously awaiting the return of Grey's Anatomy and HOUSE) but the ones that ARE back make me EXTREMELY happy!!! Anyone who reads my blog (which is probably Megan, and Kenz, and Miss) knows that I regularly watch Ellen and that she brings great amounts of joy to my life (and dinner time) almost everyday! WELL today was the premiere of ELLEN SEASON 7 and it DID NOT disappoint. The show kicked off with Ellen performing a routine with the top 10 from Dancing with the Stars...ahhh i love how much sparkle she has for life! SHE IS FABULOUS!! Enjoy a little Ellen love...

Barefoot Contessa: Ina Garten

my sweet and WONDERFUL friend Megan introduced me to the Barefoot Contessa and i must say i ADORE her!!! she is the most fun person to watch cook EVER!! she gives the instructions at a managable pace and everything she makes looks absolutely delicious...PLUS she isn't afraid to add the extra wine and butter - i mean seriously - i watched her make pecan bars earlier tonight (i've been watching her for about an hour and half now!) that used 9 sticks of butter! that is IMPRESSIVE! anyway, just thought i would share the joy. maybe someday i'll be legit and cook something awesome OTHER than chicken n' crunchies!! ha!

Taylor, the Latte Boy

it has been approximately a year and half since I was hired at EV FREE and became Jim Clark's assistant. which means, it has been approximately a year and a half since i was first introduced to Kristin Chenoweth's Taylor the Latte Boy. you see i am a massive LOVER of all things musical theatre and WICKED is one of my all time favorites (kristin chenoweth was the ORIGINAL Glenda in case anyone was confused about that). Jim, the boss man, is ALSO a lover of musical theatre - so very quickly we realized we had a mutual commonality and therefore he introduced me to this song...

TODAY i was listening to Taylor the Latte Boy (because it makes me very happy) when Jim walked into the office and he told me the story of a young man who wrote/sang/something like that a rebuttal to Taylor the Latte Boy that I would like to entitle, Lindsay the stalker chick. haha ENJOY! :)

oh ellen...

in case you were wondering, i absolutely LOVE ellen degeneres! i TiVO her show everyday and THOROUGHLY enjoy laughing the workday away with her when i get home in the evening! WELL since ellen is on summer break, last night when i got home i was watching one of the many re-runs they have played this summer. it was an episode i hadn't ever seen before with both josh groban and john mayer as guests. pretty incredible if you ask me. anyway, josh groban and ellen sang a duet and it was perhaps my favorite ellen moment thus far...enjoy...

not tomorrow BUT the NEXT DAY...

instead of being in the Orange County airport picking up her...she'll be at the Huntsville airport picking up me...and i guarantee you our faces will be excited JUST LIKE THIS....

the flavor of the south...

Oh my gosh...the trip is so close I can literally almost taste it. The flavor is reminiscent of sausage gravy and homemade buttermilk biscuits, Zaxby’s wings and things combo – which is chicken strips, bbq wings, fries, and the THICKEST piece of garlic toast KNOWN to mankind, SONIC strawberry limeade slushies and chocolate/peanut butter milkshakes (ESPECIALLY if it is happy hour) and maybe some friend shrimp, or catfish, or crawfish, or SOMETHING along those lines. Ahhh the dirty south! There is nothing like sitting down to dinner and having someone THROW rolls at your head…or enjoying the calm and comfort of a rocking chair while waiting for a table to become available! Although I won’t be spending too much time in the south itself – I hope it will be the perfect taste of SO MANY memories!PLUS, Sara will be there and it absolutely does NOT get better than that!!!

this is the 3 day countdown face.......ahhh excited!

countdown - 4 days...

well friends, the countdown is on! We are now at 4 days remaining before my WEEK of paid vacation. I think I’m really going to like this system! Ha! Saturday BRIGHT AND EARLY (ok my flight isn’t until 8:45am but STILL…) I’ll be headed to the airport and boarding the plane for Huntsville, ALABAMA (and yes, yes you’re correct, I DO have to stop in Dallas/Ft. Worth first…). By approximately 4:45pm I will be running into baggage claim looking like an absolute basket case as I cry tears of joy and LOUDLY embrace my best friend that I haven’t seen in over 15 months. It is going to be our sweetest reunion yet. We’ll be chilling in Cullman County on Saturday evening and all day Sunday and then on the road for Mobile early Monday morning (after breakfast with my favorite PC EVER: SHAWN DOSS!!!! And since I know none of you know him, he has an uncanny resemblance to Stewart from Mad TV! Picture that and you’re remarkably close!) Monday afternoon we’ll board the HOLIDAY and be on our way to a week FULL of fun! I can’t wait I can’t wait I can’t wait!!!
