a project runway FIRST...

project runway is one of my all-time-favorite-shows...it is part of my happy place for sure. well last week's episode was ONCE IN A LIFETIME. it was INTENSE. there is an awful designer named Gretchen (who i lovingly refer to as GRETCH) - she makes lovely clothes (most of the time) but her personality is WRETCHED and her arrogant and condescending attitude is as Nina Garcia said regarding the collection team luxe made in the episode, GHASTLY. I took a few minutes while watching the episode entitled, there IS an I in team for the second time to write down a few quotes...these are DIRECT from the mouth of Gretch herself. "I kind of feel like I'm in every piece even if I'm not sewing it"

"He's not going to mess it up because I'm going to kill him"

"Michael, Michael where are you - don't go farther than the stairs Michael"

"I think it's kind of coll that when I look at it, it doesn't really look like any of us - and that is a project runway first!"

"It was really important to us to really and truly collaborate"

"We worked really hard and I don't think there is a weak link - it's like we all did the best we could for each other and for you"

THEN judging got a little more hot and heavy and Gretch changed her story...

"We very late in the game realized that grandma had arrived"

"I'll take responsibility for the styling - but I think I had to style maybe a crappy collection"

"I do feel Michael's technical skills were the weakest"

"I made the crappy 80's top"

well let me just tell you...TIM GUNN WAS NOT HAVING IT

this was HIS response to the competitors AFTER judging was complete (and he was MAD!)"I have a few words for team luxe. I fundamentally do not understand your behavior and demeanor and affect on the runway. I don't get it. I don't know why you allow Gretchen to manipulate, control, and bully you. And AJ you took the bullet and now I have to send you up to the workroom to clean up your space"

NOW THAT my friends was the Project Runway FIRST! Tim Gunn has NEVER gotten angry or been anything but cool and collected when sending a contestant home. HE is on my team...and we are NOT on team Gretch!
